Tina and I thought this was a nice place for a rally. No thought was given about any one driving from any where, or to exclude anyone because of distance, or even that we were planning any thing. A simple post about a nice place for a rally and some photos.. that's all it was....

Here's a suggestion, if y'all want to make this doable for us folks not in the New England area.

https://www.facebook.com/otterlake/

or https://otterlake.com/

Clarke suggested this place; I second that.

I should have looked closer at what I was writing for a title. My bad. I did not mean to indicate that I was thinking of planning a rally at Twin Mountain next year, however it's beautiful location and campground set up lends itself to having your/our group segregated, with our own amenities.

A mid eastern rally point is probably much easier for most, so I understand Happy Campers post. A thread for someplace like the one should posted so people can make plans for next year as soon as possible.

Sounds like a potential 2nd rally site. Would have to be a week long rally only because that is there minimum during the summer.

Here's Otter Lake rules on minimum stays:

Q: How long do I have to stay to make a reservation?
A: Memorial Day & Columbus Day Weekends: 3 nights. Any other spring or fall reservations: 2 nights. Summer (June 26th to September 7th) Reservations: 5 nights. Lakefront summer reservations: 7 nights.

Maybe a suggestion would be that we go before June 26th or after Sept 7th , or we don't get lakefront sites and make it a long weekend during the summer. I'm good with that... this is a really nice place. I've been there and it perfect for some great kayak/canoe/fishing action. Second; it is a fair and pretty equal distance for the good folks in the New England area and those of us in Maryland and southern PA. The have a heated pool that is open all year.

Here is their website re activities:

Eric: I was not trying make waves  ;D; just throwin' in my .02 worth.

IIRC there are otters in the lake.. it is a healthy and scenic eco-system..

Check out the video on the bottom of there homepage:
