We booked smugglers den from 7/13/2018 to 7/19/2018. Part of a two week trip around the region. I will be reaching out for some suggestions for our first trip to these areas.

Before we get to Acadia national forest we are planning on spending a little time in the white Mountain national Forest. Our first days trip will put us someplace around the lower portion of the Vermont New Hampshire, Massachusetts border. Any suggestions on a stay over in that area. Also, are there any must see places you would recommend.

Hiking is probably going to be the main focus. Biking and kayaking would be on the list but can't bring all the toys. We have just under a week to spend in the white mountain region before we head to Acadia. My Washington, lost river to name a few. Always looking for suggestions. Thank you.

the Flume is always a fun and "cool" hike if it's hot....

https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/flume-gorge.aspx

we have camped at Lost River a couple of times and it is a nice spot....not sure if you can get a spot by the river....we have seen black bears there.....

Cannon mountain tram is fun.....

https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/aerial-tramway.aspx

Franconia Notch is a great spot.....

https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/franconia-notch-state-park.aspx

Mt Monadnock has some great hikes, if you are that far south...

also, the kancamagus highway, and all it has to offer, with hikes, waterfalls, etc

lots to do up there...this just scratches the surface....
