Not sure which axles I have....
« on: April 09, 2016, 07:57:48 PM »
I am trying to determine which axles I have on my Montana 3750FL. More to the point, whether I have E-Z-Lube or Nev-R-Lube hubs. Is there an easy way to determine this?

Eric, there is a sticker located in the center of the axle most likely facing rear. You most likely have Dexter e-z Lube 7000lb axles. That is what I have. another easy way to tell is pop off the center hub and you should see the zerk fitting.

I have a picture of the Never-Lube hub that was never lubed, its not very Pretty, there is no such thing as never lube, it will fail if it is run enough. be proud that you have the EZlube hubs

Personally I don't like the EZ Lube axles. I like pulling the hubs and doing the bearings the old fashion way. I've seen too many seals blown out the back and drums pumped full of grease. The brakes on these axles don't last long if you truly have them working correctly and adjusted correctly so it's safer to pull them and check /clean and lube the moving parts. I have yet to see an auto adjuster work right on them either.
